RSS Reader

Probably a stupid question as I'm sure there are hundreds of decent RSS readers available.

I'm looking for a decent desktop RSS reader that will also give me notifications when new items are posted to the feed. Maybe something with desktop alerts similar to what Outlook has.

Any suggestions?

Feed Demon does this beautifully. It also syncs with Google Reader so all your reading stays up to date and gives you desktop alterts when feeds are updated.
