Can't use the ASUS one as I'm on Sky Fibre and the Merlin one is pants compared to how my old RT-N66U behaved.

Seriously tempted to punt this router on the MM and go back to my RT-N66U unless there's another firmware to try? Read up on DD-WRT but it doesn't look like it's fully supported. I did read on here in another thread that there's a similar firmware to Merlin's that's based on ASUS WRT but I can't remember the name. Typical.

Ah pants, I was looking at this router for my Sky Fibre as well via merlin firmware, what is different that you don't like? Is it still fully functioning?

Tomato, DDWRT?

I've been using the beta Asus firmware for the past couple of weeks on my AC66U and apart from a few random resets it has been rock solid. F/W is available for yours also.

Too late. I've already ordered a Vigor.

My internet just doesn't feel as snappy as it did on my old RT-N66U. I've read elsewhere that Merlins code doesn't get as much attention on this model as it does the 66. Whether that's true or not I don't know.

DrayTek Vigor 2860N-Plus.

I don't know why I changed to an AC router - I only have two devices that are capable, one is my iMac which is wired and the other is my MacBook Pro which I barely use at home. :D

Just return it back to where you bought it from, most retailers give 30 days money back guarantee, better than taking a price hit selling it on mm.
