Well i have a few rpgs based on the thread and great looking recommendations downloading. I am however in interested in strategy games, unlike rgs i have never really got going with this genre but like the look of some. I did download one or two a while back and felt over whelmed and sacked it off

Any beginner rts games/city build/resource management type games for osme one new to the idea ?

Warcraft 3 and frozen throne expansion are truly wonderful and immersive games and offer very soft elements of base building and army planning with the usual resource management (basic) and upgrades.

The story telling is wonderful, it still looks gorgeous and you can literally loose yourself. It’s also fun trying to find the Easter eggs on the maps

I’ve never been much into RTS games because they‘re mostly much too hectic for me to enjoy them. I constantly have the feeling of being rushed into action before I’m ready for it. I like taking my time, treading carfully,
and fortifying my base(s) before venturing out into conflict and when I feel I’m strong enough. In most RTS games, this method means you're practically DOA.

The reason I’m saying this is that there is one RTS game I thoroughly enjoy because it tends to punish you if you stick your head out too far and too early, and that’s AI War. There are loads of video plays out there to get
an idea of what I mean, and if you can look past the dated but very functional graphics, it might be something you could appreciate.

And is getting remastered this year.

Well Starcraft 2 is amazing but 1v1 ladder can be intimidating as the skill celieng is so high. However..

The game is now free to play and you get the first campaign, Wings of Liberty, for free. This was a fully paid release when it came out and its excellent, and pretty accessible for new players and a great way into the game. You can pay for the other 2 campaigns if you wanted to, and they regularly come up on special offers

The multiplayer is entirely free other than cosmetic stuff. The is a coop mode which is actually really fun. There are arcade games too.

Given its free its worth giving it a bash, just dont expect to be winning GSL anytime soon . Ive been playing it consistently for 8 years (and Im still dreadful) and its still well populated with a big esports scene if you like that.
