rtw administration

Grrrrr, evil Activis-..wait, what?..

Probably good for A-B to be scouting the talent leaving rtw. Hope your mate finds himself back in a job :)

There is a skeleton crew running the game still, servers are still running and we should still get the 1.4.1 patch which is going to fix the problems we've been moaning about since launch.

Hopefully EA don't purchase the company, bad enough them having the publishing rights if they had the game we'd only get updates every 12 months.

got a mate in rtw. got told he was redundant yesterday... thats nice of them

Its not like he got made redundant and they kept going, like other companies have been doing. If no one buys the company then its done.

The local council are trying to get the government involved as RTW has links to the Abertay courses, which are currently highly regarded, but they fear without that tie the course and students will suffer due to reduced prospects.

Its mainly the USA side of the operation that still have jobs (ie not the core development staff so most the code is now useless), 99% of the Dundee Studio has been let go with no redundancy pay at all, even the peeps working on My World that were let go the week before

EA , at least the peeps in the UK were not impressed by the game at all during its later stage of development.

i just meant the amount of warning he got was a few rumours for a few days and then bam, rtw are done.
is a ****ter for me because i would liek ot be goin g into games and it means one less company and how ever many more qualified people around for the positions.
and its all about a game that probably would have done pretty well if theyd spent less time on the art and more on the engine.

I get what you mean now, it came about all of a sudden. If your friend wasn't expecting it, then indeed RTW are being a bit ****.

The premise of the game (APB) is fantastic, and its real good fun to play, but as its about driving and shooting and as both of those are lacking compared to other games it wasn't going to do well.

yeah i agree it was really really stupid of them to ship it in its state.. but then if they were going into admin i guess it was a last ditch attempt to make some dosh
