I am looking to run RTX 2080Ti NVlink SLi with my current MSI RTX 2080Ti Duke OC. Unfortunately due to space and motherboard layout I cannot use use the same model, and I need a card that max uses 2 price slot spacing. I have found a few models that meet that criteria like Inno3D RTX 2080Ti Gaming OC X3 or Gigabyte RTX 2080Ti Windforce OC.

However upon looking for options I began to wonder if it is a good or bad idea to mix the GPU types in NVLink. I specifically think about using Turing TU102-300A and TU102-300 based cards in NVLink. Would it be better to use another TU102-300A based chip. Cards with the TU102-300 are almost £118 cheaper.
I am tempted to go with a cheaper card but on the other end I also don't want to limit my currents card performance.

If it’s the same pcb then I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work as you can match different model cards in SLI.

300 vs 300A may be an issue as it thinks it’s a different chip. At least in bios flash terms from experience.

Yea I have searched and searched but I haven't found any trying to nvlink TU102-300A and TU102-300 or even TU104-400A and TU104-400.

Arrived and installed. Quite impressed with this Inno3D card - feels sturdy. Oh yes it came with Samsung GDDR6 Vram.
