Thanks for your reply.

The thread was a bit old & there seemed to be no follow ups if it was fixed. So my options were to resurrect an old thread & annoy people, or start a new thread & annoy people. Obviously it would have been better not to have asked at all.

No it is a legit question and so was mine, I did read the thread when it was new and decided to skip 2000 for various reasons.

AFAIK the later revision cards (may be A1 Core or whatever they named them) should not have "Space Invader" issue and I would say the Supers certainly will not (outside failure that can happen to any card)
 
I've had my two 2080 Ti FE cards since they launched (bought directly from nvidia) with many thousands of hours of gaming on them and so far they have been 100% issue free.
 
My experience with ASUS has been really good one bundle bought a couple of years mobo died but all good apart from that .
