RTX 3050 vs RTX 3060 Laptop

I'm in the market for a laptop, until now I've used a desktop for my occassional gaming. But as gaming has become more and more occasional I've decided to sell the desktop and just buy a gaming laptop. From what I've seen everyone appears to slate the RTX 3050 GPU and recommends going for the 3060. However I've only got a limited budget to spend, how bad is the 3050 in terms of "bang for buck" considering I'm going to have to fork out on average, an extra £200 to go for a 3060 machine over a 3050, especially as an occassional gamer but one who likes to play recent titles.
 
Be careful when choosing as the power limit of the GPU plays a big part in how much performance you're going to get:


I found the 3060 to be a bit anaemic in latest titles at times and that was the full fat version. A 3050 may be frustratingly slow in new titles.
