Hi all. I’ve recently purchased the RTX 3050 6gb model to replace my old 1050 Ti. After installing my new card I’ve not seen much of an improvement to performance across a variety of games, is there anything I can do to improve performance?
The only game which seems to have benefited is Iron Harvest, all other games the FPS seems to be about the same.
Thanks

What games are you playing and at what settings? What resolution is your monitor?
My monitor is 1080p60hz
The games are Dawn of war 1-3 high settings
CS2 low settings avg 120 fps but drops down to 70-75.
Left 4 dead 2 avg 150 but drops down to 85-90
Starfield 2 avg 120 but drops down to 90fps
These are similar to what as was getting with my 1050

RTS games tend to be CPU bound, and for the titles you listed you already had an ample GPU.

You're well above your monitors refresh rate anyway, you're not going to see any real benefit of going over 60 fps. If you want a smoother and more consistent experience cap your FPS to 60. Those lows are going to feel jarring, especially with a low refresh monitor.

I had a suspicion that my i5 could be causing a bottleneck I just wasn’t sure. I will try and cap the refresh rate to 60 and see if that helps.
Thanks for your help

Games that are more GPU-demanding like Cyberpunk would probably show larger gains, though you'd also struggle to play those with your i5 unfortunately.
