i ordered an RTX 3080 on 18/09/20 and requested a refund on the 19th. currently they have cancelled the order and not given me my money back after about 3 days. don’t pre-order this card! it will most likely not be shipped for about a month anyway so you shouldn’t pile into the already huge queue of people and i now don’t even have the option to catch any restock right now.

i'm more annoyed that they went the effort to cancel the order but not send the refund.

They will have issued the refund immediately when order was cancelled.

This takes time to transfer into your bank account, and can depend who you bank with.

However, like the poster above has said, it's over the weekend, today is the first business day since your cancelled order, you should have the money by Wednesday.

So you requested a refund on the weekend, OcUK would've cancelled it over the weekend or today at the latest as you said.

Refunds aren't instant and that's not OcUK's fault either. Payment processors and banks will not process and clear the refund for usually 1-2 working days. So during the weekend nothing would've happened anyway, other than OcUK cancelling the order and submitting the refund back to your card.

So if you're lucky you might see it back tomorrow, if not the day after I'd expect. They used to take 3-5 working days but over recent years, card refunds clear a lot quicker now with payment processors.

I paid via PayPal and was refunded other same day.

PayPal works differently to paying via debit/credit card. They have their own platform so can work transactions on a more live basis.

The typical banks debit/credit card platform operates on 'working days' Mon-Fri for processing still.

I was just highlighting that OCUK initiated the refund promptly.
