Hi there,

I've got myself into a bit of a pickle. I'm rebuilding a PC that I previously had a custom loop in. The RTX MSI 3080 SUPRIM X had a waterblock that is now removed.

I have the backplate and heatsink that came stock, but I'm missing all screws and the silver bracket shown below:

I believe the four screws in the bracket are: M2x7.9mm 7mm Spring OD.
The backplate should be: M2x8mm.

Any ideas what that bracket is called / where to find a replacement? I do have a dead GTX 1050 ti... Thinking i can scavenger the bracket/screws off it...

The bracket is just a leaf spring, but they're custom-made for the card that they're going to be used on. You'd need a replacement designed for the same GPU at the very least for it to be the right size, but even then they can vary quite a bit in terms of shape between different manufacturers. Here's an Asus 3080 for example:

I doubt that'd fit on your card due to the backplate cutout being different. Clearance of components on the back of the PCB is also a potential issue. A bracket not designed for that specific card could potentially touch components and cause a short. I'm pretty confident in saying one scavenged from a 1050 Ti would be no good, as that's a much smaller GPU. If a 1050 Ti would even have one that is. They tend to be used on higher-end, larger GPUs with huge coolers to increase mounting pressure. Low-end cards typically don't have or need them. Screws on the other hand are more likely to be compatible, so long as you check the sizing.

As for where to get a replacement, you'd have to scavenge it from another card using the same bracket design. Another MSI card using GA102 (the 3080 through the 3090 Ti) would be best, but maybe another manufacturer uses the same design. You'd have to check. You could also try asking MSI if they have one they could send you, but best of luck with that. Alternatively, you could try using (plastic) washers. The bracket is just to increase mounting pressure, so washers under the screws would achieve the same result. You'd have to be careful about the sizing and tension being applied however, lest you end up with too much or not enough.
