Ruark MR1 Replacements

So, after 4 years one of my Ruarks (the right one) has decided that mids and lows aren't worth producing anymore. This puts me in the unfortunate position of having to fork out another small fortune to replace them... Any suggestions?

Requirements:
Good sound (obviously)
Physically no bigger (I'm limited on space)
No more than £400 (less is better... could even replace the Ruarks for £350 if no other option)
Be active (don't feel like forking out for an amp too)
Have a sub-out to pair with my Wharfdale SPC10

Honestly, they sound great. I'm no audiophile so I can't really review with any sort of technical terms... but they sound "smooth" ? Thankfully there's a fair bit of kick on the lows too so I can get away without adding the sub into the mix.. gonna sell that to try and recoup some of the insane costs ;D

how would you rate this set up against the Ruarks?

Honestly, a *little* better. I don't think my tiny cramped room is the best environment to get the most out of them. The Ruarks were magnificent little speakers, their biggest pitfall was the lack of low end - which I used the Wharfdale SPC10 to supplement and give a fuller range. The Ruark's were like an 8/10, the B&W 607's and NAD D 3045 are an 8.5/10 (in this environment, I think in a bigger room with a bit more space to breathe they'd be notably better).
