I need to sort my shower out.
Current setup:
Brand new standard condensing boiler in the kitchen
Open vented system
Hot water tank in the bedroom
Cold storage tank in the loft
Cold feed to all taps from the rising main
The previous owner has fitted a normal mixer tap attachment to the bath - this means that there is no way I can have a proper shower with it - the hot water pressure and flow are nowhere near the pressure and flow of the mains cold and never will be.
I've considered a few options:
1) Fit some sort of venturi shower. Treviboost seems to be the only one available and I won't get much change from £400. But I've no idea how good they are and don't want to spend that much if it's still going to be rubbish.
2) Replumb the bathroom so that the bath tap is fed from the cold water tank in the loft. This would mean both cold and hot pressures are similar (ie crap) which would mean both would need pumping.
2) is probably my preference, but it raises the question of where to put the pump. Running the new cold feed along the same path as the current hot feed would be awkward - floors and carpet up on the landing, bedroom and bathroom which I'd rather avoid. The easiest I suppose would be to drop the cold feed from the loft down the wall, and have all the pipes and the pump concealed behind a false wall or similar with the shower mounted to that.
Any thoughts?
