Getting this up now for pre-season talk.

1) Your team? Catalans Dragons.
2) Your highlight of last season? Nil'ing Leeds in Round 11. Always a good day when that happens
3) Your expectations this season? Hopefully a big improvement on the last uneven campaign.
4) Your most anticipated new signings? Tommy Makinson.
5) Who you think will win the league leaders shield? Wigan.
6) Who will be the dark horses of the competition? I reckon Hull FC can't possibly have as bad a year this time.
7) Likely starting line-up? To be determined.
8) Final league position of your club? 3rd.
9) What (or who) will be your clubs weakness next year? Travel. Especially at the back end of the season, we've got six out of the final eight matches on the road.
10) Who will be promoted from the Championship? Toulouse, hopefully.

1) Your team? Wigan
2) Your highlight of last season? Beating Penrith in the WCC (although Wembley and the GF were good too :))
3) Your expectations this season? Hopefully more of the same.
4) Your most anticipated new signings? Haven't made any big new signings, but Brad O'Neill will be a big boost when he returns in April or thereabouts.
5) Who you think will win the league leaders shield? Wigan.
6) Who will be the dark horses of the competition? Wigan always lose to Wakefield. I think they will be ok next season. As previously said, Hull FC can't possibly be worse. HKR will be stronger and will now know what it takes to win big games. I'm not sure how many games Warea-Hargreaves and McIlorum will actually play with suspensions etc, but they will certainly give them a boost up the middle. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from Leeds and, to be honest, I don't think they know either.
7) Likely starting line-up? As the GF. I've heard that the club have lit a fire under Tyler Dupree, so expect him to feature strongly. The rumour of Liam Byrne to Hull won't go away.
8) Final league position of your club? Top 3
9) What (or who) will be your clubs weakness next year? Losing daft games eg Wakefield (and Hull FC this season). Any long term injuries to Field/French (in particular).
10) Who will be promoted from the Championship? Toulouse.

This works really well in the NRL. The RFU will have copied it within a month.

Also agree with the one about passive players not being offside on a downtown kick eg the one that Luke Thompson got pinged for to disallow a perfectly good try by Liam Marshall in the GF

I really like the one about players staying down to get an incident looked at having to leave the field as well. The staying down bit went against every fibre of my rugby league being :)

This one sneaked under my radar

A points system for disciplinary (which is fair enough), BUT carry-over points from the previous season.

Read elsewhere that points will carry over until the end of Feb. Liam Byrne has 17 points hanging over his head, so anything will get him punted for 3 games. Why would Wigan pick him until March if this is the case? Not worth the risk.

I wonder if NRL players come with a clean slate? We might see Warea-Hargreaves in July if this isn't the case :)

Things continuing to teeter on the brink at Salford :(

Super League club Salford Red Devils have been issued with a reduced sustainability cap and ordered to sell players by the Rugby Football League.

Uncertainty about the Red Devils' future at Salford Community Stadium has led to doubts over gathering commercial revenue and left gaps in their finances.

Salford said they have maintained a level of silence in recent months "due to the sensitive nature of ongoing discussions with potential investors".

"Our discretion has been to maintain and ensure the integrity of those discussions, bound by non-disclosure agreements, and to protect our club, players and staff," Salford said.

"As the position stands, contrary to what has been reported, investor negotiations continued over the weekend as part of the lengthy, rigorous process to secure a takeover for the club. This is still live and we are working to expedite - details of which we can't disclose given the non-disclosure agreement in place.

"However, the club has been directed to sell players without delay; the position is the RFL have issued a sustainability cap of £1.2m, and until we reach that, we are now prohibited from registering players for the upcoming season."

The regular sustainability cap for Super League clubs is £2.1m.

I just hope that Salford don't become the new London next season, where certain clubs (Cas and Hull, I'm looking at you) take that as a cue to do just enough to stay up as they know they are safe.

This has been horribly managed by everybody concerned
