So, some clumsy idiot when removing the monitor from the loft put pressure on the bezel, and now there is leakage, and vertical lines. It basically look like someone has pressed into the top of the screen, and thin vertical lines in the middle. can this be fixed with a replacement screen?

I'm thinking about throwing it up on auction site marked as faulty, would anyone even buy it? its a decent monitor

It depends really..

How expensive was it? Is it worth trying to fix?

Or just keep it as a spare when you need it for something unforseen..

Too much pressure put on panel can certainly damage it permanently.
Though lines could be caused also by bad control signal wiring contacts.
Just Google for LCD vertical lines

That's a write off. Nobody's buying that. It's a whole new panel required which is more economical to just replace with a whole new unit.

What a nightmare, the panel is dead.
Nobody will buy that.
I'd be checking house insurance details to see if accidental damage to things is covered.

I've just done an "Advanced Search" on a well known auction site and ticked "Sold" items:
On the 1st August, one with a damaged screen sold for £46 (+£10 postage) after 17 bids.

You might be better off checking your house insurance.

Looks pretty much like my 55inch tv after my 6 year lad old accidentally threw a toy at it, safe to say it was a write off and also the reason I won't be buying an expensive OLED anytime soon :p
