Ruined GTA V disc

So today I managed to walk into my xbox when walking past it with GTA V spinning in the drive and well there was a hideous noise as the disc got scratched to hell, my own stupid fault but I can't undo it so my question is, the game will launch from the disc but as soon as the game has loaded doing anything like moving out of a safehouse means the game just crashes as it obviously can't read the data. My idea is to borrow the play disc from a friend and install it too the hard disc and hope that my disc is enough to boot the game and then the rest can load from the hard disc, but will this work? is my play disc matched to my disc 2 that installed or should it not matter?

Shouldn't matter and if you can get as far as the game booting then you should have no problems (my drive spins down well before then and I have both discs installed).

This is what I was hoping my only worry is if both discs you get in a case are matched and either wouldn't work but a different copy of the game.

The discs aren't matched, however you should easily be able to have the disc resurfaced or even do it yourself.

HMV does it as well as Game.

My friend did the same, knocked this 360 and strached the play disc. I borrowed my brothers play disc, installed that to the memory stick and my friend can play the game using this strached disc without any problems.

Went to Hmv today £1.99 and the disc looked like new after couldn't believe it as the scratches were pretty deep, it works perfectly now so give them a try if your in the same situation.

I'd just take it to CEX like somebody suggested. The one in town close to me does it for £2 a pop.
