Hi,

In not a very big drinker, however in the past I've enjoyed the odd whiskey when out... Otherwise I tend to avoid spirits (For no reason than I seem to get through them too quickly, which gets costly!).

I've had rum occasionally in the past however last night all I drank was Havana Especial with lime and coke, and it was simply delicious.

Can anybody recommend any other rums worth trying? I'd rather try them out at a bar than purchase a bottle for home consumption (I'm not after purchasing lots of bottles to have a little try of each!), although if there are any nice-tasting cheaper bottles worth purchasing for home then I'd like to hear of these too.

Cheers. :)

Check out the Renegade Rums. They're bottled by Bruichladdich in Scotland and aged in some seriously good casks. I've tried the Château Margaux casked one but they use Latour, Lafite, etc... too.

Havana 7, to me simply the best rum to make a cuban out of, hands down

This is a rich dark rum that has been cured in an oak vat for seven years to give its full richness and deep colour, tall glass, shot havan 7, squeeze in quarter a lime leve lime in, top with coke, tall refreshing drink

Wray & Nephews Overproof, tastes like ass but you won't remember a thing :p
Oh my gosh that is the worst tasting drink in the world!! For the time it takes to remind yourself how alcoholic it is whilst trying not to gag due to the foul taste you could just be glugging down something bearable. Frankly paint stripper must taste nicer.

Daz - you are a man of taste and sophistication :)
