Rumble coming to PS3 pads?

Am I the only person who's not that bothered whether the pads have rumble or not?

I thought it was annoying a lot of the time anyway.

Do you think they will be bundelling them with the PS3 kits?
ie Console plus pad with Rumble... :)

Because if they do i think i will hold off abit!!!
I wasn't looking forward to Gran Tourismo without it. :D

so it just virbrates? does it not anyway? i thought it did..

Nope.

Basically the solenoid technology inside has to be lisenced from the company that has the patent on it. Nintendo got around it because they came up with their own. Sony and MS have had to lisence it.

They both came into trouble with the said company wanting money from them. MS settled it and paid up. Sony tried to fight it in court and lost. They then removed it from the PS3 and said Next Generation didn't need it anyway.

The silly thing on Sony now is that they have settled it and paid up, they will probably be bringing rumble back, after telling us that we didn't need it.

only have 2 sixaxis pads atm anyway... so buying 2 more with rumble features would just mean i have 4 pads for multiplayer. Which is never a bad thing (unless you dont have any friends /comfort).

^I'm pretty sure they also said that the rumlbe will interefere with the motion technologies but now it doesn't lol

About time Sony started picking themselves off the floor and do things right. Now for a tasty PS3 price drop ta :)

It's funny that even with a hugely late release the early adopters get shafted :p

Im completely with you on this one.

I still don't understand why a lot of people in this thread seem to think the story in the OP is telling us anything new?

"Sony has yet to announce what kind of hardware will feature the rumble technology (and when it will appear)"

There's no news at all in that story about IF and even WHEN we will be getting a SIXASIS with rumble!!!

I remember in my PS 1 days i bought a dual analogue controller, then after a few months they released the Dual shock controller, i purchased them both think they was about the £20 mark. Pretty sure at the time it wasnt like oh look Sony screwing there customers, early adopters etc. It was more like cool look what Sony have done now we got rumble and dual analogue! Think most people thought it was a sensible evolution of the original controller , not a way for Sony to fleece its customers.

Read between the lines.

There aren't too many other reasons for Sony to settle with Immersion other than to implement the rumble feature in the PS3 pad.

lol very true...

This is the main reason I haven't gone and bought a secondary controller.

The thought of buying one and then sony releasing the rumble one makes baby jesus cry! :(
