Ok so ive searched and search the forums and nothings come up, so i apologize if its already been posted.

What do you guys think? personally i'd love it! Obviously not to replace my pc for gaming, i still love gaming on that. but to be able to play xbox games on the pc just seems a win win idea for M$. Obviously they would have to step up the security, but really i think its a great idea.

Hopefully. Always wanted to play some 360 exclusives like Alan wake etc but didn't want to buy the machine. I'll likely only play SP games though unless we can play online for free i.e no Xbox LIVE just GFWL.

i dont think its a software issues thats stopping pcs from running xbox games but the actual hardware itself isnt it?
if it was then im sure there would have been an emulator released by now.

Unless Microsoft confirm this, I'm not believing it.

but a number of sites are reporting today

Rubbish then. One site starts the rumour and all the other sites just copy it until it becomes "fact".

Think it's more to do with the fact the games would run like crap even on the most powerful systems. In a few years you'll likely see them sprouting up.

really? i thought it was because the hardware they were coded for is completly different to the hardware that desktop pcs use.

There isn't much information available at this point, and naturally many will be wondering why Microsoft would potentially cannibalize sales of its own console.
I reckon being able to play xbox360 games on your PC would increase xbox360 console sales...

I think this is highly unlikely to be true for hardware reason. Plus it will massively reduce the incentive for pc owners to buy an xbox.
What is likely to happen is that Microsoft are going to try and broaden the xbox brand to include games on pc and mobile, hence why they have rolled games for windows into xbox live.

Actually it would be good if they did because I would think pc users have a pc already and can play xbox games without buying the console. Also people would buy consoles because they are cheaper than a pc so they would still sell consoles. Imo of course.

But from what i read its not that games can be played on pc just that mp might be more cross platform and windows live will be integrated into win 8 as standard or somit.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced plans to merge Xbox.com and Games For Windows Marketplace to create a one-stop-shop for players.

"Games For Windows Marketplace will fully transition over to Xbox.com," it said. "Now you can get all of your gaming needs in one place. It's convenient, it's concentrated, and it's a whole lot of great games."

i think people are missunderstanding, i think all it means is there will be 1 big marketplace rather than the windows and xbox ones being seperate. well thats what i got anyways. like STEAM supports mac and windows games, but it does not mean that windows games work on macs or mac games work on windows.

Who owns a console but not a PC? A laptop at the very least?
