Rumours Sony TV's Marshmallow rollout may be beginning.

Personally I think it needs to be taken with a Russian salt mine sized pinch of salt but rumours are starting to filter around that the much rumoured and often delayed rollout to Sony's Android TVs of Marshmallow may be beginning today.

There are other posts in other forums hinting the same thing but I can't link to them because of language and content.

Personally I think it's just more rubbish but we can only see and hope.

Well there has definitely been an update released a friend is reporting there is a new firmware for his XD80 listed on the Sony support site today in the last hour, it's listed as version 6.0614, whether that is an update to Marshmallow he can't say until he gets home to install it.

Although the rumor for 2015 models getting marshmallow is false and my mates an idiot as he has an XD85 not an XD80 so he was checking the wrong support page, I believe that XD70, XD75, XD80, XD83, SD80 & ZD9 have been on Marshmallow since September??

Are you saying you've got the XD85 updated to Marshmallow currently? As I'm hearing conflicting reports that it's all more smoke and mirrors from Sony support and it is in fact non existent except for the small patch for the late 2016 models already on Android 6

I don't think it's going to happen, I suspect that Sony are refusing to admit that the MT5890 SoC with it's gimped Cortex-A17 is just not up to the job since the later 2016 models with the MT5891 which has a Cortex-A53 have Android 6 running Ok(-ish) now.

I believe XD70, XD75, XD80, XD83, SD80 & ZD9 which are late 2016 models are MT5891
