Hi all, a quick question about multiple monitors with different update rates.
I currently run 2 monitors on my system, both 60Hz, and I generally just use the primary monitor for gaming with the secondary for web browsing, system monitoring etc. I don't have them set as an Eyefinity group, just an extended desktop in Windows 7.
I'm hoping to upgrade my PC later this year and am thinking about whether to go 1440p or 120Hz (I won't be able to afford a system fast enough to do both) and I was wondering what will happen if I mix a new monitor with 120Hz update with one of my existing 60Hz ones. Will I be able to run a fullscreen game at 120Hz and still have the other monitor running at 60 or will the rate of the primary be dropped to match the secondary? What about games that run as a borderless fullscreen window (WoW and Eve as examples) so that I can move the mouse out of that monitor and onto the second screen without minimizing the game?
Many Thanks,
Ross
