Run applications remotely from Server 2003?

I would like to be able to run applications remotely on PCs anywhere, but have them actually being run on my server. Sort of like a Citrix setup, or the Remote Applications feature in Server 2008.

Basically, have an application window open on my PC, but have that as just the visible front end of a tunnel back to my server where the application is actually running.

I know I can do this with Citrix, or with Remote Applications on Server 2008, but are there any free solutions for Server 2003? I don't want to have to log into a full remote desktop session.

Free - No.

For free closest you could get is VNC with single window focus.

I've found AppliDis, but it just doesn't seem to work.

I've also found TSX RemoteApp which gives RemoteApp functionalty on Server 2003 boxes, but requires using the TSX RDC Client and is only free for 14 days

Can you use a Windows 7 PC has a host for a Microsoft TS RemoteApp server?
