Run games from external HDD?

Just got myself a WD Passport.

Can I just move the game files over to the external HDD or do I need to reinstall to it?

Or will they even play off it at all?

Yep, i have played games off my WD external drive, they played fine

shouldnt be a problem...never had a problems moving games..i do a lot of making more than one copy of folders for games and copying files (i.e. without a reinstall) when modding so knock yourself out

Loading might be slower, but once it's in the RAM should play as normal.

My main HDD is only 80gb and that's mostly used for my dual boot and more important programs.

I recently started playing wow again and I had the game backed up on a usb powered hard disk so read speeds are slow and it worked perfectly to my suprise, nothing different from a full speed desktop

edit: I understand this wont be the same for all games!
