I need a single slot nvidia card to run my 2nd and 3rd screen both display port gsync

I can find qaudros around 20 quid. But gefirce cards start at 120!

I only want it to run YouTube videos/stats

To go with my 980 sli. If you can find a single slot dual display port card cheaper please help!

that I'm not actually sure but pro drivers have different hooks that normal geforce drivers - you could do it; but whether you get side effects; bugs crashes I wouldn't know until its tried.

can you not simply use the three display ports on your primary 980?

I can have tri sli enabled, with all three screens running fine as standalone screens, which each get full sli acceleration. Or, I can enable surround and have that fun times/annoying as hell times combo.

1. i cannot use a 710. i need 2x displayport outputs at least. though adapters may work?

2. Reason i want a 3rd card & not attach them to 980 SLI, is when running 2+ monitors using 980 SLI & running youtube/video streams or alt+tabbing a lot. performance drop is very noticable.

Example 1st Screen Stats, 2nd screen Witcher 3, 3rd screen YOutube 1080p Fps in game 45-50fps

Example: 1 screen Witcher 3 58-60fps constant.

Plus alt+tabbing really has weird issues with 3 screens at 3 different HZ & at 2 different resolutions.

i will need to test Gysync screen on HDMI. i doubt the 710 can do 2x1440P monitors though or 4K

you can't run Gsync on HDMI......

i know that, i dont need gsync for the 2nd/3rd screen. but i don't know if it just plain would not display a picture with an adapter. i dont need gsync for displaying youtube/hwmonitor etc.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 is great for those building an entry level gaming PC to play games such a minecraft or some of the older classic titles such as Command & Conquer, Quake 3, Half Life etc.

No it isn't :p

NVIDIA drivers guarantee that the new GT 710 will handle all games, new and old with issue

Can't play any games, and thats guaranteed! :D

While I personally havent noticed the issues you have, except in very limited "one off" situations, I can imagine its certainly possible, so fair enough. I was running three 60hz DVI screens 1440p*2 + 1600p, bought 2 displayport star tech 1440p adapters for the side screens figuring it might work, with the main new one on display port 1440p natively. Both the side screens flickered very often, to the point of being unusable. Reviews of the cables seem to be pot luck on whether they work or not for your specific monitors.. They were the ones for like £28 on ocuk, I imagine the full on the proper adaptive ones work better, but then the cost means you may we all go up to a proper card.

If you are anywhere near me, you are welcome to test the adapters out if you need to, and if they work have them for a minimal fee as they are useless to me.

Might best to just get a second hand card though?

Edit: If the side screens at 1080p, adapters seem to work perfectly fine though.

and I suppose to actually answer your question though. It certainly used to be possible to force a quadro card to run using standard drivers. the same way you could make laptop cards use the unified desktop drivers via an .INF tweak. the last time I looked into this was ~ 7 years ago though.

Laptopvideo2go was a good site for guides, and "geforce drivers for quadro" second result on google has an old guide. But would be a good place to start researching to whats possible nowadays

the screens are
Left 1440P/4K 144hz/60 (soon) currently running 2560x1080v 21:9
Middle 1440P 144hz
Right 4K 60hz

issues:
Alt tabbing Any game out. Screen flicker and gives a weird resolution for x seconds.

Alt tabbing in any game (1440p) with youtube 1080p on 4K screen the 4K full screen video goes into like silkscreen & goes off the screen for good 60 seconds. sometimes stays like that.

in-game performance sometimes Drops or The youtube video will be very laggy feels like youtube drops to 15fps.

i used to run a 420GT with my 570's which also showed alttab issues.

im heavy alt+tabber sometimes 25+ times in any single game session.
