I have been out of the loop with PC's for a while and i am just going to up-grade very soon (will be ordering this Monday when i get the time).

Can i have some opinions on the following items, this is all i need as i have the rest from my current pc.


I am going for the 1.8 ghz one as i am being told i can easily over clock this to 2.7 by changing the FSB, if i am wrong someone please correct me.

Ok might just do that.

Also can you confirm that the 1.8 will overclock fine, if there are reports of it causing issues i would rather just get the 2.4 to be safe?
 
The CPU is compatible with the motherboard, there is a large thread on them (the 4300) in the CPU sub-forum, as far as I am aware they are fine although they occasionally need more volts but for reaching 2.7ghz you should be fine, you only need to up the FSB to 300mhz. In fact the Ram is rather overkill for this purpose since that is less than PC5300 speeds (333mhz) so you could save a bit of cash and get either PC5300 or PC6400, either is sufficient for your purposes. :)
