Ok, so its basically a free to play MMO.

Its been in closed beta for a good few months and has now advanced into the public open beta stage.

http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/index.html

Im finding it a lot of fun to play, currently with a lvl 21 priest / 9 knight. (2 classes on 1 character)

Easily as good as WOW but without the cheeky monthly fee.

have fun

give it a couple of hours and you will be in to it ;)

graphics are good on full...

I gave it a couple of days, and the graphics aren't good on full.

It's a cheapo asian, cash shop, WoW wannabe game. And no i don't like WoW. Not to mention that once you get up to around 40 there's bugger all to do.

Yeah instead of cheeky monthly fee you buy game currency for real money. These games are not free - just free to play if you dont want the best items

You can sell stuff ingame for the currency you can buy with real money(diamonds). So you dont have to pay anything, for any item ingame. Rich people still have an advantage tho, but atleast the company get there money instead of gold farmers lol.

I have a 14Warrior/13Rogue but dont seem to have much time to play it atm.

I've been playing Rune Of Magic I'm a Knight. It's such a rip off of WOW I'm sure Blizzard could sue. I'm still waiting for my Wow Battle Chest to come though the post.

Meh. I don't really like the game as it attempts nothing new.

It seems to know that it's a WoW-rip off and make no attempt to do anything interesting.

I like the item upgrade system, and the crafting system. Not sure about the dual class yet as im not that high (and only tried 1 combo).

Graphics suck, even at high res :(

Its not as bad a wow-rip off as people seem to be saying, but wouldnt any game of this genre wouldnt be compared to wow? no matter how diffrent it was.

Nothing out right now is better than WoW, it's just a common fact tbh. It has 11.5Mill subscribers for a reason.

The problem is, if you've ever played WoW before and then you go on to play a different MMO, that MMO will feel really mediocre, at least in my experience anyway.

That's true of nearly every MMO you try after your "first love". No MMO feels as "good" to me as my first one (Asheron's Call) and it's simply because that was the first MMO I got into.

I agree that WoW obviously is doing something right however.

That depends on personal opinion really, just because the game has 11.5mil subscribers don't make it 'The best' it just makes it 'Most popular' which while in terms of profits, does make it 'The best' but you can't really mix how much you'll enjoy the game based on how much money it's making.

An example of this would be Britney Spears. Popular, yes. But I can't stand her.
