Hi,

I've cobbled together a folding rig from spare bits left over from upgrading my gaming rig:

Abit FP-1n9 mobo
E6300 @ Stock
2 gig ram
Xpertvision 8600GT DDR2
XP 32bit

It's contributing about 1300ppd which is OK but I've picked up a XFX 8600GT DDR2 cheap. I was wondering if it's possible to run both cards on this mobo and how I would go about it. I've tried just putting the card in but it isn't even recognised...

Is what I'm trying to do even possible? The mobo has a little PCB that you have to take out, turn over and reinsert to enable Sli but as I'm not planning to Sli the cards will I need to do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm you should be getting more than that, you should get around 1800ppd for just the 8600 alone, add the cpu into the mix and I'd reckon you should get around 2000 ppd

As for the second card, have you tried it on its own? It should be recognised. You can still set it up as SLI but run it separately AFAIK.

So test it on its own, see if it works in SLI if all that works you should be good to experiment with to gpu clients

Thanks for the adivce biffa. I will try it by itself first as I bought it 'untested' which in eb*y speak probably means broke! Shame about the missing points... Do you think it might be anything to do with the e6300?
