Quick question please..

I've just replaced my RAM (2x4GB) with the following:

Corsair Vengeance Pro Blue 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2)

Is it worth running my old RAM along side the new RAM even though it's a different size and type? The old RAM was:

Kingston Genesis - 8GB Kit*(2x4GB) - DDR3 1600MHz Intel XMP CL9 DIMM

My motherboard is an ASRock Z68 Extreme4, Intel i5.

Thanks.

It would only be useful if your 100% filling your current 16gb.....otherwise its a just useless.

Ok, thanks guys. Thought it might be of some benefit because it'll only be sitting in a box somewhere, but I'll leave it out.

I won't be filling the 16GB but wanted to take the opportunity to upgrade as I'll be getting back into gaming again and this should go some way to future-proofing my system as I've noticed that some recommended specs require 8GB RAM.
