Hey all,
I have a haf 932 which has 2 spaces for a psu, so i was running a Hi-powerr 800watt psu before but i had a load of fans/lights hooked up to it so it shut itself off when i turned the leds on.......i lost my whole damn essay :(
So i put an old 300 watt psu into the top slot and have used that to power my fans/lights,

would it be worth me keeping it like that or saving for a decent 1100watt psu,
Btw if anyone asks yes i did short the motherboard connection out on the 300 watt psu

and a bit off note but does the coolermaster v8 cpu heatsink come with its own mounting bracket as i need a new cpu cooler/mounting bracket as my current one is broken :(

Atm i have

Amd 5000+ 2.7ghz
Gigabyte ma790x ud4p
4x1gb ocz 800mhz ddr2
asus hd 4850
Seagate barracuda hardrive
asus quickwriter dvd drive
Soundblaster audigy card
1 23cm front fan
2 12cm 3000rpm side fans
1 12cm top fan
1 14cm rear fan
2x 30cm long Cathodes

:) thanks for any help

You dont need a 1100w psu for that rig, a quality brand 500-600w would be ample for your rig, incidentally, Hi power dont sound like a decent brand of psu, this is the second thread in the last 2 days of someone having issues with one.

Well the problem was that last night i was just playing about with my nely installed leds, i went to turn them on and then the pc shut down straight away, however with this 300 watt in thereaswell it is running fine, would it be worth using that for the meantime then saving up for a better psu?

Looking at the Price of the Hi-power £60 ~ for 800w seems to cheap to me.

Look at a fairly quality brand PSU from Corsair, BeQuiet, Seasonic.
400w will be more than enough, my i7 with dual 5850 pulls 480w from the mains full load.

+1 and save up some money for an upgrade :D

This, running 2 low quality PSUs is much less efficient in terms of electrical consumption than running one decent one.

Cheap PSUs cannot often function at thier rated figures, which is probably why the second one was needed to stabalise the system.

Thats why its important to buy a good brand, think of it like buying a 700w hi-fi from a highstreet shop for 150 quid - a good quality brand system rated at much less watts will blow it out of the water.
