Do I just install the second client in a different directory? Is the installation method the same as for the first client?

Yes - I chose to install mine on a seperate drive though I think a seperate directory on the same drive will be fine.

One thing I've noticed though is that when I kill one of the clients it seems to kill off the cores on the other one too, this normally leads to at least one if not both losing the WU it was working on :o
I try to only close the clients when they've got new units and I close the one which has got the most progress first since chances are that one will be ok.

Don't forget to use the affinity changer - adds a good few hundred PPD :)

Has anyone determined yet whether 2 WinSMP clients with the affinity changer gives the same as 4 Linux SMP clients?

Yip. Four linuxSMP clients get about 25% more ppd.

I was getting ~5000ppd with the 4 linuxSMP clients, and ~4100ppd with a pair of winSMP clients and the the affinity changer.

Also, I suspect running install.bat on the second client while the first client is running tends to kill the first one rather dead. I think I've been able to stop one client without killing the other though.

Possibly - though since I had to install via the hidden Administrator account I'd already stopped the first client before I installed the second.

edit: Obviously won't be the case if using WinXP or Vista with all the silly bits turned off :p
