i have an old monitor that it use to display aquasuite and afterburner, connected to my gpu by dvi.

I just swapped in a new gpu and noticed there’s no dvi, I have a dvi to hdmi plug thing somwere. Found the plug and a hdmi lead. So hdmi from motherboard to coverter.
The monitor doesn’t turn on when powering up the pc, if I turn it on I get no signal.

Is this a hdmi hand shake thing or do I need to enable onboard gpu in bios?

I have only display ports left. Wife won’t let me have a proper monitor so I’m using a tv/monitor. Old skool it has a vga port.
But I’ll try and run the 2nd monitor from gpu using dvi to hdmi adaptor.

Swapped cables (mobo to tv hdmi and monitor with dvi adaptor and getting signal on monitor and no signal on tv.
So no issues with hdmi or dvi adaptor, quick bios check and I can’t find onboard gpu settings. Or hdmi to dp adaptor if such a thing exists

You need to have both displays plugged into the GPU, so you'll need the right adapter.

Thanks guys, guess I’ll be getting an adaptor.

£5 out the budget won’t hurt the budget as much as this gpu did, more than half the budget for the gpu. I was aiming to spend 650 what my pc I have now cost to build.
