Running 3 monitors but having middle one as "main" display

Hi folks,

Running 3 x 23" Dell U2311h's off my AMD HD 6870 graphics card.

At the moment Ive got all 3 running but would like to have the middle on running as my main display.

I've fudged this at the moment by arranging them in the order on my desk of

[ 3 ] [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

So when Windows 7 boots up it uses display 1 as the main display. This works great but the kludge is that to use or put anything on the left monitor I have to drag my mouse to the extreme right going from 1 across to 2 then bouncing round to 3.

Is there an easier way of doing this, having everything pop to the middle monitor, start button, icons etc or am I best running it the way I am just now?

Cheers :)

Rik

It doesn't matter which order they are on your desk, you use the ATI software or the Display Options to set it correctly :).

I also have 3, and periodically move my main monitor around depending on if I'm working or playing games etc!

edit: I believe mine are actually order: 3 1 2 as well! But I can move my mouse in the correct direction to get to the correct monitor, so left for 3 and right for 2 when starting at 1.

Ok, how do I get windows to use the middle one though instead of everything jumping to the left one ? :)

Right click the desktop -> select Screen resolution -> drag monitors into the correct order.

Easy!

(Use the "Identify" button if you're not sure which monitor is which.)

The catalyst control centre is brilliant for arranging monitors/desktop setup.

I belive it is under the the "desktop setup" tab (or similar) you can identify the monitors and then arrange them how you like, once you have the positions correct you can then right click on the monitor in the middle of the setup screen and set it as the primary moinitor. The primary one is the on marked with a *

When I had 3 monitors it was setup as 1 2* 3 with monitor 2 being the primary.

Got to this screen:

Right click on the monitor you want as your primary, then click "Make Primary" and the asterisk should go to that monitor :)
