I'm struggling to get my onboard graphics to see 3 monitors simultaneously

mobo: Asus M4A785TD-M Evo
video: ATI Radeon HD 4200 (RS880)

In theory this should be achievable as the intergated gfx has ports for HDMI, Digital and Analogue VGA - but I am only able to get two (any combination of the above) to work at one time.

my understanding is that ATI graphics are quite capable of 3-head output - perhaps I am wrong!

Any thoughts very much appreciated

Work around is to get a triple head 2 go from Matrox.

This will allow you the ability to take one DVI output and split it to 3 DVI outputs to span your desktop.

Was the predecessor to Eyefinity. I used to have one before moving to my eyefinity set up. I ran mine from a 8800GTS and a 4870X2.

It should work fine from an integrated gfx card, but don't expect to be able to play games at anything but the lowest gfx levels with the integrated gfx card you have. It should work fine though for windows desktop use.

As long as your monitors don't use a resolution higher than 1680 x 1050.

They will still work, but maxing out at the 1680*1050 resolution * 3. Which is how I used my 2407's(1920*1200 res) with it.

Though you do get a degradation in quality running at non native resolution. But that to be honest I didn't find it that much of a problem. Others who are more picky than me might find it a problem.
