hey

I Was given my father in laws dell 30" to sell, So i thought i may aswell have a play in eyefinity with my 30" and 27".

But there is a serious issue!

It simply wont work.

They are connected as follows

Dell U3011 is Connected to a Mini-DP
Hazro 30" is Connected to Mini-DP to DL Dvi Apple adapter
Catleap 27" is Connected to DVI-D

The Hazro works fine with the catleap.

When i plug the Dell in all hell breaks loose, It simply take over and the other two turn off! and no matter what i do i cant get them to work along side it. The Catleap will run along side it but the hazro simply refuses.

have tried swapping Mini-Dp ports but it just says no.

Anyone got any idea?

Mini-DP to DL Dvi Apple adapter

Is this an 'active' adaptor? if not you may have issues.

I think non-active ones (like I'd imagine most apple connectors to be) are limited to 1920x1200 @ 60hz.

Should be fine in that case.

Does the 7990 share video outputs with any of the other ports? I know some other cards have display outputs that will disable when something is plugged into another.

Looking at the back of one of those cards you have:

DVI x 2
MDP x 2
HDMI x 1

Couldn't you run the hazro and catleap directly from the DVI sockets and have the dell on the MDP?

Ah i got it working.

All i had to do was click Detect Displays when all were plugged in.

In eyefinity now, shame it defaults to the lowest screens res... im @ 7860x1440...

Didn't know one was single link, presumed it would be the usual 1 x dvi-d & 1 x dvi-i .

Glad you got it sorted :)

Eyefinity is epic... makes me feel sick tho in bf3. Just far to much information in my face haha.

It causes the 30" monitors to run 1440p instead of 1600p but thats no big deal.
Its defo not for me tho. I couldn't use it all the time. So will need to sell the dell or the catleap.
