Running 3 Monitors?

I Currently have a 8800GTX running 2 monitors. I also have a Xfire motherboard with a spare PCI-E slot , Can i put in a old 6600GT to run the other monitor?

You could run the monitor fine, it wouldn't work for spanning games across three monitors as "nVidia Surround" though. You could play games across three monitors using SoftTH of course, but if it's not for games it'll be really straight forward to do.

Right i have put the 6600 card in the 2nd PCI-Express slot on the xfire motherboard. And only the 2 monitors connected to the 1st PCI-Express slot work.

Is there some settings i need to do?

Sometimes this can be a bit 'fiddly' to get working right, first thing to check is in Windows 7 right click and select screen resolution and see if you shows you a third screen, if it does enable it and all should be well.

Is the 6600 showing up in windows?

I've gone into the screen resolution screen and it only shows the 2 connected in Slot 1. In device manager there is a little yellow exclamation mark and says its not working correctly. I installed the 6600 drivers and i know the card works as i tested it in slot 1.

Looks like i'll be sticking with 2 monitors.
