Ive decided to upgrade froma CRT monitor to a LCD one. This will be used both for the 360 and my PC. I am confused though as to how I will get the audio to work on the 360 if I connect it to a monitor

I do have a pear of speakers that I would like to use but the only way I could possibly think of getting audio to work with a LCD monitor is to buy one with inbuilt speakers so I can use the headphone jack.

Is there any way I could get the speakers to work with the XBOX on a new LCD monitor without having to buy a monitor with a headphone jack?

There has to be a way, what is the way?

im sure you can buy a vga cable for the 360 to plug into your monitor, may not be as good as composite or DVI but i know that the 360 vga cable comes with a PC audio connecter that you should be able to connect to your soundcard or your monitor if it has built in speakers (but then again im not 100% without checking).

Yes there is a way, the audio isn't sent through the VGA cable, the Xbox 360 VGA cable has 2x phono plugs for left and right audio plus an optical S/PDIF and a 2x phono to 3.5mm jack adapter. You have several options to hook up the audio to speakers.
