Hi guys,

How would it be possible to run 5 or 6 new phone extensions from one main socket? We're fine with cabling, crimping etc if needed.

Thanks!

Mal

I thought you could not exceed an REN of 3 per line. Add up the REN of each device connected to one line and if it's above 3 then you will have problems?

REN isn't an issue, I don't think, if the phones have their own power source (ie, a battery for a cordless). If they don't, just be sure the ringer isn't enabled on more than a couple phones.

I don't know how you guys wire stuff together in the UK, but here we just tie green and red together and branch it off.

edit: yeah, yours is definitely tricker than ours:

You can have as many sockets as you want really as long as you don't exceed a REN of 4 for all the equipment connected (it should state the REN on a sticker on the device). As a rule, a modern phone is between 0.5 and 1. If you go over 4, the line may stop working or the phones may stop ringing.

You can buy a REN booster though if you need more.
