Anyone tried it? Due to upgrade in september to dual core..

I'm thinking about installing 98 on my current rig for the craic. See how it goes. AMD 2600+. Also see how it runs on a X2 3800+.

Anyone installed it on a conroe rig?

Im thinking about making a museum of old computers and windows...

You know, an Old PII with a voodoo fx card running quake on Win 95

lol.
:D

Well apart from non existant support, dual core will be wasted since it'll only use one cpu with the 3800X2. Haven't used 98 since win2k!

Also 98 is no longer supported by Microsoft so you'll be nicely open to hackers, viruses and zee Germans .

He said he is experimenting with Windows 98 and new hardware. He's not stupid enough to use it as a main rig! :p

98 wont use dual core, so thats a waste of time.

It seems to me that the NT 2K/XP OS is getting haxored more these days.
Win9x is soooooo 20th century tbh.

Sheesh... Im planning to do it... just because...

Experiment...

See what happens. If I cant get the drivers, then hey...

It just seems that with every windows release, you need an extra 2Ghz of processor. I still use Windows Classic theme on XP you know...

So I just want to see how Win98 flies on modern hardware...
