I understand that removing the battery from the laptop if you're running it plugged into the socket for extended periods of time will prolong the battery's life. Is there any danger in doing so? Exposed power connectors where the battery goes etc., not the danger of it switching off if you pull the plug, which I understand! :)

I usually remove the battery from my notebook when I'm on mains power, no problems to report with my current notebook or my previous one. Seemed to help prolong the battery lifespan on my previous notebook too, it was still fine when I sold it after two years.

Only problem I encounter on my M1330 is that the battery also has one of the rubber feet on it, so it can sit a bit off-balance without the battery in.
