Hi guys

Quick question, is there a site or something on the rules of red light running, or perhaps someone can tell me what is the action of when u run a red light?

Is it official ** caught, os only 'some' have cameras? Is there a fine if caught.

Details please, very much appreciated.

Just curious. :)

Some have cameras, some have cctv, some have nothing...

what lukechad said is correct but sometimes it can be done by mistake with sets of lights on top of each other....

IMHO more dangerous than speeding, but in cyprus its almost a way of life

Thanks, thats more of what I was after, a mistake - is there a fine? if so how much ? :) Ta.

Cheers.

its got its own penalty code

and its £60 and 3 points

i should know, i got one :o

funny thing is though, i must see it catch some1 at those set of traffic lights at least 2 times a week. And thats just in my daily 9-5 commute

but most red lights have no form of detection

if there is, chances are there are signs up. List of all red light cameras in leicestershire is on the Leics. camera partnership website

http://www.mscp.org.uk/index2_LeicesterCameras.html

do a google for your area, nearly all camera partnerships have the locations public

The A2 /A205 junction springs to mind here, Always see people turn right towards Lewisham and go through the Red light immediately round the corner. Very bad junction for people that have never been there before.

Well, provided there was no Traffic light camera, cctv or someone nasty enough to report you at the nearest police station then you'll probably get away with it.
I agree that its dangerous but, we all make mistake. Don't worry about it as there is nothing you can do anyway.

You may find some useful information on here

Linky

But it is indeed 3 points and a £60 fine if caught. Or they send you on a half day 'driving awareness' course and you just get the £60, no points so its better on the insurance.

Yeah its just like speeding (lol) but the detectors are fairly big and on top of the lights so its quite noticable. Doesnt the fine apply even if you go over the mark on the road where these detectors are? I heard that it does, pathetc ~ wouldnt expect anything less though ^^
