rig spec in sig.

Want to run a 3rd display, found out i need to get an addition pci gfx card so i can do this.

How simple is setting this up and is there anything i need to be aware of.

Im gonna get an ati one so i dont mix the drivers up.

Done this myself about a month ago.

I used 2 PCI-E graphics cards but you can still use a normal PCI card. Anything from This Page should do the job fine.

Once you've put the card in, the pc will install it just as if you plugged in a USB flash stick. Although you may have to upgrade the drivers in the device manager to get the card working properly. If you get stuck at this point, post back and we'll get you sorted. You may also have to reboot your pc for windows to detect the 3rd monitor (I had to iirc).

Once you see the display in display properties, all you have to do is select "extend my desktop to this monitor" and you're sorted.

If you need any more help just post back.

Be aware that ATI's CCC does not support the PCI 9250

I have tried using a pci card along side crossfire with no luck (so I could have two TFT's working simultaneously - but supposedly Xfire requires too many mobo resources to cope with a PCI card as well

With one PCI E card and one PCI card you should be ok just thought I would make you aware

my cards an agp. i remember my m8 saying a while ago that his pc just defaulted on his pci card but hes an idiot and prolly did something wrong. also he wasnt even trying to run 2 cards.
