Running and eating properly

I want to start running everyday but i need to know how to start properly ie. How far i should be going and for how long.

Also i need to know what i should be eating??

The reason i want to do this is beacuse ihave started to put loads of weight on and i am not healthy at all.

Any help would be appreciated

I have not gained a lot of weight i have just got a bit of a tummy on me.

I am really not a healthy person i smoke and i drink too much and i am lazy, i eat crap (at least 3 take aways a week).

I want to maintain the weight i have put on as i was nder weight anyway, but i just want to start getting fit in the process.
