Running car without an alternator

Right, we are picking up a CRX tonight. But the alternator has siezed and will be disconnected

Who wants to bet how long the fully charged battery will last with everything but the essentials switched off?
We should get some longer life out of it as we will also plumb in one of those car booster battery packs

My guess is 15-20 mins tops

Ah yes but in turn you would be moving faster so surely there wouldn't be much difference in the long run?

I'm actually quite disappointed. The idea of it breaking down for him at a set of traffic lights or something really ammused me

Yeah I thought that but we took a look at the CRX's alternator and it looked somewhat more involved than an Escort

It's in a silly place

Well guys, it lasted...

18 minutes

So my original estimate of 15-20 minutes was spot on!
All these people who reckon they ran for a week off the battery are jokers

Yup, fully charged and yes with nothing else on that didnt need to be on as it was daylight

Plus it started on the turn of the key, jap engine after all
