running dual OS, vista 64 and XP

Hi, i am building a new pc and i am thinking of running dual OS - Vista x64 and XP, just wondering if this would be possible using an 80gig HDD (for the OS's) and a 500gig HDD for general storage?

cool, and do you know if this would reduce performance speeds or anything? cheers
