running dvd's at 16:10

I guess your monitor is widescreen? You can crop the edges and play it full screen,.I think there is such an option on klite media player, touch window from outside or something along the lines.

Not with such a small difference in ratio between 16:9 and 16:10. It would be like that if it was 2.35:1 but I would be assuming that no one would want to run it like that.

Software like Mplayer classic has a "stretch to screen" option. Obviously you'll only want to do that if the difference in aspect ratios is very small. Some would say you'd never want to do it at all. The cropping from 16:9 to 16:10 isn't much, so that's another option if the stretching is too noticeable.

i have a 20.1 Dell 2005fpw and im wanting to run dvds full screen size with nothing chopped off etc, is it possible, thanks for any help

No if you stretch a widescreen film to be "full screen" you will cut off some left and right sides. A widescreen film will mostly have borders on the top and bottom (ie if 2:35) don't stretch it. The difference between 16:9 and 16:10 is not obvious to notice slight geometry shape.

If you stretch to full screen you dont lose any of the picture, your thinking of cropping.
