Hi,

I'm just wondering whether it's possible to run Folding only when I've been away for a certain amount of time?

Please, no "oh, but it doesn't effect the speed of your PC at all because it runs at idle priority".

I have my reasons :)

Thanks,
Craig.

If you're a bit handy with .Net and batch files you could set something up to run the console client when you've been away for a while.

Ah, I thought there might be a built in way to run the console client in the background when the screensaver starts/when you've been idle for a while.

I'll see if I can set it up through the task scheduler using the idle trigger.

I couldn't find this answer in the FAQ and didn't feel it necessary to start a new thread for it: Is it possible to disable to graphical screensaver? I'm running on a PC at work and don't see fit for the rest of the office to view it. I couldn't find the option in the BOINC Manager options.

edit: Hah hah! It's in the normal Windows Screen Saver options! I haven't been there for ages! :o

edit2: Nope, that didn't work. Even checking "Go to blank screen" it came up with the graphical SS. Any ideas?

You probably unticked the box during setup. :)

First point of call would be to choose a different screensaver - or set it to '(none)'. If that doesn't work, you could do the same. Uninstall and reinstall with the screensaver option unticked.

PS - this thread was about Folding@home, not BOINC. Slight hijack there. :D
