Running games from a portable hard drive

Hi all

Just posting on behalf of a friend.He has a works laptop but is not allowed to install any games on his machine.It uses lightspeed or lightscribe security system and IT wont let him put anything on it.
Is there anyway you could use a portable harddrive to install the game on and run it through there or any type of solution you can think of??????

Yeah i didnt think he would be able to.The game he wants to play is command and conquer zero hour so it is a 5 year old game dunno i f linux live would run it as i have no knowledge of linux at all
