Hi guys.

So i upgraded my PC last week to a i7 3770k chip with MSI GD80 MoBo and its running well.

I previously had MSI TwinFrozr III GTX 570 also.

I have now bought another MSI TwinFrozr III GTX 570to run them in SLI.

However my powersupply is a CoolerMaster 850W model. (details can be given).

Anwyay i have 4 leads for the GPU power supply.

Two are green and have 6 pins on the powersupply end and 6 on the GPU end. These are what i use for the GTX 570 i currently have.

The other two leads are blue and are 8 pin on the powersuply end but still 6 pin on the GPU end. These will also fit the GTX 570 if i choose to use them. (I imagine they are for other graphics cards etc).

Anyway now that im getting 2 x GTX 570:

How should i use these power cables?

Should i power one with the 6 pin leads and one with the 8 pin, or should i power both GPU's with one 8 pin and one 6 pin lead each?

Does it matter as long as they get the electricity that they need?

Cheers

Do your 8 pin connectors on your power supply have a 2 pins that detach so you can use it as either a 6 pin or an 8 pin?

EDIT: Also what is the exact model name of the PSU? Is it a Silent Pro Hybrid or a Silent Pro M2 or neither and another model from CoolerMaster? Only other thing I can think of is using the supplied 4 pin molex to 6 pin pci adapters.

No. They are just 8 pin in to power supply and 6 pin into GPU.

What would happen if i plugged these in to the graphics card? Is there a risk i could blow it etc?

Also not sure the specific brand.. Im... Errr... At work ATM lol :(

Hello.

The PU is a Cooler Master 850W - Model RS-850-ESBA.

I actually found another BLUE 6 pin to 6 pin lead, but i will share photos to double check you guys agree its ok to use them in my SLI setup tomorrow.

Maybe this will explain, my PSU has 2 x GREEN 6 pin out lets and 2 x BLUE 8 pin BLUE outlets.

In total i have 6 leads which are

Two 6 pin-6pin GREEN - This lead is what i use at the minute for my GTX 570:

Two 6 pin-6 pin BLUE - It seems to me the 6 pin-6 pin BLUE lead has two blank pins in the outer casing:

Two 8 pin-6pin BLUE - Perhaps for other graphics cards etc:

Using the GREEN and BLUE 6 pin-6 pin leads will i be ok to run 2 x GTX 570's in SLi?

It seems to me the 6 pin-6 pin BLUE lead has two blank pins in the outer casing...

Cheers
