Running gtx 970..what monitor?

Hey,

First time posting really. My monitor finally gave up the ghost yesterday, it just refuses to power up, but I've had it for just under 7 years so it's about time for an upgrade anyway!

Question is what to get. Budget of no more than 200/250 max ideally.
As title says I'm running a gtx 970, i7-4790K 4.00GHz.

I'm unsure if it's worth pushing the boat out right now..hence the budget.

Monitor will be pretty much for gaming although I don't really play too many demanding games any more.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Anything 1080p will be fine. Any higher than that and your card will begin to struggle.

Yeah I've seen an Asus VG278Q in my local PC world and tempted to get it for 300. I'm a bit fussy with design as well I like the slim bezels.

Quite expensive for a 1080p/144 TN panel, I would be looking at closer to £200 for those specs. Have you checked the viewsonic range i've heard good things about them. XG2402 looks nice.

Freesync on this one (certified) will work with Nvidia Pascal or newer, as well as AMD of course. The feature won't work with your 970 but will with your next card.
