Running Higher Res

not sure if this belongs here or in monitors

Basically i am thnking of getting a new monitor, a 19" WS (1440x900) or 22" WS (1680x1050)

and ive just tried the 1440x900 res on my ageing 17" CRT (that can actually goto 1600x1200) with my rig in sig and i was shocked to see no performace drop in games at all

Oblivion

could it be reverting back to another res?

is my graphics card good enough for this highrer res ? becuase it only has 256Mb

I want to b sure i can play games in native res before I buy, thanks

my native res is 1024x768, and thats what i run at, everything accross the board....

its a 17" CRT Sony Trinitron goodness

oblivion wont go above 1600x1200 but according to the widescreen website in the sticky it should!

it ran fine @ 1600x1200, i cant belive runing a higer res doesent make much difference
