Just read this article on the bbc http://http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-23462815

Apparently when Usain Bolt ran 100m in 9.58 seconds, "8% of the energy his muscles produced was used for motion, with the rest absorbed by drag"

So I'm wondering what sort of speed could he achieve in a vacuum, if his muscles are using 100% of the energy for motion, would obviously need some kind of breathing device.

can't just be drag from air. you've got inefficiencies in muscles and joints, and also loss of energy when contacting the ground.

When running there is also a lot of motion that is just for balance etc.

They'd be no pressure in a vacuum, even if he had a breathing device he would die

Bit like being in outer space really

See the moon landings

Man has not been to the moon. I can't believe you think that we had the technology to get to the moon when <RAMBLINGS, INTERFERENCE, CRAZINESS> all prove that the so-called 'computer' which did not get those people to the moon (which also does not exist) could never have been run on 4 triple A batteries.

Ask me more about my drinking issue and my inability to interact with normal people in a way that other folk would find non-scary

I don't remember then trying to run 100m?

I don't recall them being particularly nimble either, and that was at reduced mavity which counters the weight of the suit. I'd pay to see Bolt run in a vacuum, wearing a space suit. This is what athletics is lacking tbh

But the moon landings were not done in a vacuum they were done in a TV studio...

I saw a super crazy video on YT of some slack jawed yokel claiming they filmed it upside down, using wires and massive magnets to pull on metallic sand.

As for groen, I'd love to think every cute thing he posts here is his genuine opinion, alas I feel he is a sophisticated troll

Magnets - how do they work? Nobody knows

What a complete load of ****. Does an athlete run 100m much faster with a 30mph tailwind? No.

Seriously, if you have to think about this for more than 10 seconds you need to have words with yourself.
